High School

"If it were not for Dr. Gourdine, I don't think I would have finished high school. I was so stressed out that I stopped going to school at one point. She gave me the courage to go back and succeed." - Natalie

All participants are given the following guarantee:
If you don't learn one action step that will influence or change your behavior in our workshop, we will give you two hours of individual coaching for free.

Many high school students have remarked "the first couple of years don't matter, colleges just look at your performance as a junior and senior." Nothing could be more misleading. The early classes in high school determine the opportunity to take more advanced courses later on, which in turn will prepare the student for placement in the college of their choice, or to develop the career that can carry them into adulthood. The Academic Success program can help by:

  • arrow Encouraging the development of internal motivation
  • arrow Teaching skills in developing social relationships
  • arrow Teaching how to cope with both success and failure
  • arrow Encouraging planning for higher education

After completion of the Academic Success program, your student will have learned:

  • arrow How to develop their own motivation to succeed
  • arrow How to develop better emotional control and insight
  • arrow How to cope with peer pressure
  • arrow How to communicate more effectively with parents and teachers
  • arrow How to prepare for college, both academically and interpersonally
  • arrow How to develop self-discipline
  • arrow How to manage time more effectively
  • arrow How to balance social and academic needs
